So old. Literally, so old. The town. It’s older than your Great-Great-Grandmother’s Aunt Wilma. No exaggeration. Claiming to be the oldest city in the U.S. Who knew that 1565 would literally be the start of one of the coolest cities to visit, with absolutely so much history to knock your skull into!
Let’s dive into 5 things for you to do while you’re visiting St. Augustine, Florida >>
Lodging:

St. Augustine was founded by pirates, basically. Okay, that may be a lie, however, the historic feel of this town and the Spanish origin makes me want to live like a pirate when I go there. While I can’t really be a pirate, as I’ve got kids to take care of, I can share a place called The Pirate Haus Inn! This is a kid-friendly bed and breakfast, and trust me. I’d go just for their pancakes. (They’re free, you know… Well, when you stay the night there! But it’s still a deal!)
Affordable, and clearly an awesome setting, no matter your age! Go be a pirate and get in the mood for your exploration of St. Aug!
Food & Drink:

Two things come to mind when I think about Harry’s Seafood, Bar & Grille… Good drinks and great food! Overlooking the bay, you’ve got an excellent outdoor setting available, alongside some great local music and an ever aromatic experience!
This isn’t their only location, as they’ve got five others in Florida. Originally opening the first Harry’s back in 1987, it’s clearly been a popular place to fill your gut, so you might as well add this to your list!
Attractions:

Being the oldest city in the country, I’m sure there’s plenty of ghosts that just chill out here. Besides, where else would they go? What better place to check them out than from a tour that is dedicated to helping you find a ghost with Ghost Tours of St. Augustine!
Take a tour around St. Augustine as the evening begins to unfold, and you’ll be in for a treat, as you take in some historic knowledge, while sight seeing an environment that looks totally different at night! Be safe, because the next morning, you’ve gotta get out for a day on the water!
Shopping:

If there’s one thing I know, without a doubt, it’s that St. Augustine Paddle Sports is the place to go for your fishing needs in the area. With a great selection of apparel, tackle, kayaks, and even live bait, you will also leave with a good idea of where to go for a good time on the water, which means this is a winner! They also offer guided trips, if you’re not quite sure what to do!
David Hernandez has put his blood, sweat and tears into building this business up from scratch, and has established a reputation second to none when it comes to making sure his customers have what they need to make their day out on the water a great one!
Services:

So, before getting back to your week, and after a long day on the water, the lady friend, wife, girlfriend, whatever, may want to freshen up her salt-kissed hair. Set up an appointment as this awesome little boutique salon called Salon Zellanova! Whether it’s just a quick cut or a different service, such as waxing, coloring, or even for the kids before they go back to school, it’s a great place to get touched up and renewed!
